Jim Berg Named a 2020 New Jersey Law Journal Trailblazer Print PDF

09.14.2020

Founding Partner Jim Berg was named a 2020 New Jersey Law Journal Trailblazer for his work creating a case status management (CSM) platform that provides enriched data to the firm’s lawyers and its clients. This supports the principle upon which PIB Law was founded along with his colleagues Jay Ibrahim and Scott Parker – how to think critically about how to assist clients beyond zealous advocacy.

This led Jim and the senior staff at PIB Law to create the CSM predictive tool that captures historical data, such as settlement amounts agreed to by a particular judge, past legal spend and per case costs, to help clients estimate future reserve requirements and litigation budgets. His passion for this project stemmed from his own experience gathering as many data points as possible in preparation for court appearances. He said, “We’ve created a solution that provides on-demand reporting and simplifies data management so it’s predictive and can be used for forecasting, and better informs clients about their legal spend and exposure.”

Jim told the New Jersey Law Journal that he is optimistic that the CSM tool will help the firm’s clients navigate the current COVID-19 crisis – he is working with the team to find ways to enhance the platform so that it can track future legislation and help determine the impact of fees on a case as a result of procedural changes.
