Tracy DewittTracy Dewitt is an Associate with Parker Ibrahim & Berg LLC. Ms. Dewitt has extensive experience in creditor's rights, commercial banking litigation, bankruptcy, contested foreclosures, and municipal law. She routinely appears in New Jersey state courts and federal bankruptcy courts, and in state and local courts of the five boroughs of the City of New York.

 

Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Dewitt was an Associate with Shain, Schaffer & Rafanello, P.C., where she was instrumental in the daily operations of the firm's mortgage deficiency practice and represented financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in consumer and commercial debt collection and judgment enforcement proceedings. She regularly defended banks and mortgage lenders against claims arising under consumer banking and mortgage protection legislation. As a result, she has extensive experience addressing issues involving Articles 3 and 4 of the UCC, EFTA, TILA, RESPA and other banking statutes, as well as knowledge of New Jersey and New York foreclosure procedure.

 

Beyond the realm of banking, Ms. DeWitt has also represented municipalities in various aspects, including condemnation matters and property tax issues., and her practice includes filing and enforcing mechanic's liens and payment bond claims.

 

Prior to becoming an Associate at Shain, Schaffer & Rafanello, Ms. Dewitt was an attorney with the law firm of Atkinson & Atkinson in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.

 

Ms. Dewitt is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Ms. DeWitt has two law degrees. She is a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law and earned an LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Ms. DeWitt also received her B.B.A from the University of New Brunswick.
