Ed is a Partner with PIB Law and is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ed focuses his practice on intellectual property including patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, patent analysis, intellectual property licensing, intellectual property strategy, intellectual property transactions, trademarks/copyrights and patent litigation support.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ed was Director, Intellectual Property at Applied Materials, Inc. where he directed and oversaw all intellectual property matters for one of Applied's largest business units. While at Applied Materials, he formulated and implemented global intellectual property strategies while managing and developing an extremely large patent portfolio. Previous to his work at Applied Materials, Ed was Senior Intellectual Property Counsel, Patent Portfolio Manager for Cisco Systems, Inc. where he managed some of Cisco's most prominent patent portfolios involving software and hardware related technologies. Before Cisco, Ed was an intellectual property attorney with IBM's Research Division where he managed patent development activities and intellectual property transactions involving some of the most advanced technologies developed by IBM.
